Poop Update

Poop Update

So it's been a month since our home disaster,
and we're still homeless!
I know, can you believe it has taken this long!!!
They got everything cleaned up and torn out the first 2 days,
and have just been taking their sweet time to rebuild.
The insurance won't pay for a hotel, so we have been nomads.

A carpenter finally came by a few days ago to start rebuilding,
and said it would take 2 more weeks...
We are bummed,
like really bummed.

Sick of living out of a suitcase,
sick of eatting out,
and sick of staying at other peoples houses.

Neither Matt or I have family in Utah,
so we have been relying on friends.
Really great friends,
who cook us dinner, and let us stay in their houses for long periods of time.
We were at the Garfield's for the first few weeks, and are now at Mindy's parents.
We are real grateful.

At least the rebuild has finally started....

2 more weeks.
Let the countdown begin....

  1. Keep your chin up. Easy for me to say. So sorry you have to go through that. I hope everything turns out sooner rather than later.

  2. Oh I'm so sorry! I'm so glad you have awesome friends to stay with. If you want to drive up to Idaho, you guys can stay here. It's no fun being homeless. Hope you're not having to pay rent now.

  3. Thanks Julie! We're just outside of Idaho Falls. It's probably 5 degrees warmer than Rexburg but when it's this cold, I'm not sure it's really significant. :)

  4. well that is just CRAPPY

    ... i know... clever

  5. anne and mary are some of my best friends in palo alto and we just moved to orem. we have a guest room that's not being you're welcome to email me if you need a place to stay. we could sew together :)

  6. oh gosh, so sorry it's taking forever! I read your post about what happened -- i can't even imagine!!! thank God nothing important was ruined!
