Thunder Mountain
Next time you decide to drive from
Utah to Tahoe, you should probably stop at Thunder Mountain.
It's the weirdest Indian burial ground, fun house, junk yard, ever.
Apparantly some guy in the 70's started calling himself
"Chief Rolling Thunder Mountain," and began building
his dream home in the middle of no-where Nevada.

his dream home in the middle of no-where Nevada.
It's actually pretty cool, the whole perimiter is lined with
crazy converted cars, concrete, phone booths, old scrap metal, and baby dolls.
Glass bottles, windshields, scraps, chickenwire,
and tons more was used to make the 3+ structures and scupltures
all over the property.
It's just south of Winnemucca, NV
oh, you don't know where thats at? I told you it was in the middle of no-where.
It's not worth a 5 hr drive, but It's a great midway stop!
that is the coolest thing ever! i wanna go!

ReplyDeleteAbsolutely LOVE that you stopped there. Thanks for documenting it. Now I can not go and say I did.
ReplyDeleteI used to live there. I left in w997. My trailer and hard was outside the round house. It was way stranger and intricate than could ever be explained. There is a pbs documentary. I gave tours. The weird thing is they never say how he married his daughter and had those babies with her before he died.
